NEW Winners! Rustic Patriot Girl and Purely Dog Beds

Unfortunately (well, unfortunately for them - but fortunately for two of you!), I have to choose new winners for both the Rustic Patriot Girl and Purely Dog Beds giveaways. The winner of the Rustic Patriot Girl giveaway did not claim her prize.

The winner of the Purely Dog Beds giveaway decided not to accept her prize, as the sponsor requires the winner's Social Security Number for tax purposes. I apologize for this, and I did not realize that this would be required of the winner. Please know that if you are the winner, you will have to provide your SSN to the sponsor (but not to me) in order to claim your prize. This is what they say about the situation:

"I fully understand your hesitation; rest assured, we wouldn't ask unless it were entirely necessary. When we give away a prize with an equivalent cash value of over $5, we need your Social Security or Tax ID number so we can properly declare it to the IRS. It's for your protection as well as ours, and all personal information will be held in complete confidence; your information, once voluntarily disclosed, will never be sold, shared, or used for marketing purposes."

So if you are chosen as the new winner of the Purely Dog Beds giveaway and are not comfortable providing this information, I completely understand, but please let me know as soon as possible, because they require the winner's info by a certain date for the prize to be fulfilled.

Anyway, onto the new winners!

The new winner of the Rustic Patriot Girl giveaway is...

Lucky number 25, Shannon!

Congratulations to our winner, who has won any pair of wool baby shoes from the Rustic Patriot Girl shop on Etsy! The winner will have 48 hours to respond to my email before a new winner is chosen.

Requiring on SSN for a $40 win I think I would turn it down too.

I don't mind giving my SSN for a win > $600. But putting my SSN in one more place when it is not required is a little over the top.

Sorry, this is not a reflection on you.

Yes, I agree. If I had known that they would require it, I probably would not have accepted the giveaway. However, there is some good news! The sponsor got back in contact with the original winner and said that upon further consideration, they would allow her to claim her prize without providing her SSN (the second winner also did not want to provide her SSN, so that's why it went back to the first winner when offered with the new conditions). I thought that showed good customer service on the part of the company, so I'm a much happier camper.

Stopping by from the Cornucopia Blog Hop. I can't imagine having to provide a SSN for a giveaway. What a tough position for you to have been in! Yikes. Glad the company provided such great customer service!
