My Father's Day Collage

I made a collage for my dad! I didn't get a chance to celebrate Father's Day with him until a couple days ago, so I've been holding off on showing you all, since he reads my blog from time to time (hi, Dad!) and I didn't want to spoil the surprise for him. But now that the collage is safely in his hands, I thought I would share! Click on the photo to see a larger version and to zoom in.

Let's Chat: Do you have any collage-making tips to share?

I have one! When I make a collage using a blank sheet of white computer paper, I always find a full-page background to glue over the white paper before I start adding to it. Here, I found a page in a magazine that showed a pretty garden scene and had no words printed on it, so it was perfect. Starting with a nice-looking background really helps tie the collage together, because even if there are some gaps between what you glue down, it will still look filled in and lovely!
